Taylor Automotive has been in business for 27 years and is one of Auckland's leading Engine Reconditioning workshops.

We recondition all makes of petrol and diesel motor vehicle and marine engines, specialising in European engines.

Tom Taylor, the owner, has worked in the industry since serving his apprenticeship in Newmarket. Tom formed his own company in 1979, setting up a small business in Auburn Street, Grafton, competing with the other 12 reconditioners in the central Auckland area.

Tom had a goal 'to become the best Engine Reconditioning workshop in Auckland'.

Starting with 2 brand new machines from Denmark, within the 1st year the staff had increased to 4.

The small operation at No 4 Auburn Street rapidly grew and by 1984 had outgrown the building and moved to bigger premises at 6-10 Auburn Street, where we are today.

In 1991 we opened a full mechanical servicing workshop adjacent to the reconditioning workshop. This gives us the facility to operate a 'One Stop Engine Shop' providing a drive-in-drive-out service, ie remove, recondition and refit engine under one roof.

Over the years we have always re-invested money back into new machining, keeping up with new technology of the industry and the newer motor vehicle engines.

We pride ourselves on quality workmanship and excellent customer service, always standing behind our work.

We are members of the New Zealand Engine Reconditioners Assn (NZERA) and an AA Licensed Repairer.
